Shalamberidze opens FIBA career with Norway – Slovenia

Georgian Maria Shalamberidze is an early member of our community and she recently started her FIBA career on the WU20 division B in Skopje Macedonia. Her first game on that tournament was the battle between title favorits Slovenia and outsiders Norway, easily won by the contenders. Danjana Rey from Germany featured as her crewchief while Einars Tukiss from Latvia was the third part of the referee crew that saw Slovenia take an 87-51 victory. Ortis on court in Sopron during Hungary Argentina

French referee Marion Ortis is one of our community members that sees a lot of action in the U17 Worlds taking place in Hungary these days. Yesterday she was part of the team that led the encounter between the hosts and Argentina. It turned out to be an easy win for the hosts. Crewchief in the game was Blaz Zupancic from Slovenia while Norval Young (British Virgin Islands) completed the crew.

Mendoza on Worldcup U17 in Debrecen

Besides the Europeans we already talked about -and would love to tell more but only 24 hours in a day- there’s also a world cup going on with people from the community. Spanish leading lady Espe Mendoza was the crewchief yesterday for the battle between Japan and Slovenia, won by the first team. She teamed up with Waseen Husani from Canada and Vladimir Jevtovic from Croatia. The link can be found down here.

Another Eyeopenercamp visitor on FIBA level #livestreamalert

Yesterday we told you about our campvisitor Daniella Torok who made her first steps on FIBA level last month. Today you’ll get to see another visitor to our camp as Laszlo Goda (Hungary) takes court on the Europeans Boys U16 C division. At 16.00 he will be part of the crew for the battle between Malta and San Marino who both lost their first games on day 1 of the competition. Emmouil Tsolakos from Greece is the crewchief while Maciej Nazimeke makes it a threemen crew. The commissioner is Sergio Borroni from Italy.

Coanus for Quarterfinal Clash between Italy and Serbia @ 13.30 #livestreamalert

Our community member Laure Coanus is working the European championships in Sopron Hungary. Today at 13.30 she will be a part of the crew for the quarter final clash between Italy and Serbia. Ukrainian referee Sergii Zaschchuk is the crewchief for the game while Ginaras Maciulis from Lithuania makes it a three men crew. Officiatingscool Eyeopercamp-visitor making her first appearance as a FIBA

It was in 2018 that we had a decent delegation from Hungary on our Eyeopener Camp in Berlin. One of them went on to get her FIBA Badge in and Daniella Török recently went to the European Championships for small countries to make her first appearance in an international game. She was part of the crew for Norway-Andorra together with Xhelal Mumini from Kosovo and crew chief Igor Mitrovski from North Macedonia. Very proud headquarters here! We all start our games with a jumpball I hope. And it’s important to have an active mindset as soon as you are on the court, because: if a violation occurs on the jumpball as in the clip below: Do we have 24 seconds or 14 seconds on the first shotclock??

Indre Balnionyte appointed for Armenia vs Georgia WU20 #livestreamalert

We are very happy to see our Lithuanian referee friend Indre Balnionyte take stage for the U20 women B division clash between Armenia and Georgia today. Indre is one of the early members of our community and will open her first European Championship (last summer only challengers as you might remember) in company of Tomas Langowski from Poland and Nikolaos Tziopanos from Greece. Weiwers steps in to the light at 14.15 #Livestreamalert

In Skopje Macedonia the U20 women division B tip off today and it’s an interesting tournament as well. Luxemburg community member Lynn Weiwers in the crew for the opening game between Greece and Albania at 14.15 later today. Amalia Marchis from Romania headlines the crew as the crew chief while Martin Kucirek from Czechia makes it a trio.
