Anna Belousova and Karol Kowalski have been nominated for the classification game (5th to 8th place) between Hungary and Serbia at 15.45 today. Both teams coming off clear losses, Hungary went down in quarters facing Spain and Italie proved way to strong for Serbia. Both teams had a three game winning streak snapped in the quarter finals.

Matuszewska in for semi final WU20
Moneytime is approaching in the European Championships WU20 in Sopron. At 18.00 today the first semifinal with defending champion Italy and perennial contender Spain will feature our community member Ewa Matuszewska from Poland along with Gintaras Maciulis from Lithuania and crewchief Ilias Kounelles from Cyprus. Both team went perfect in the tournament so far!

At the end of the day in Skopje there’s a classification match in which we get to see Lynn Weiwers again. She’s part of the crew for the Romania versus Slovakia matchup. A very nice nomination for Indre Balnionyte who received the honors of being the crewchief for the Switzerland versus Armenia matchup at 18.45 today. It’s a classification match for the Europeans U20 women division B and she will team up with Anastasia Tsakiraki from Greece and Danijela Korade from Croatia. |t’s her first FIBA nomination as a crewchief. Radinovic takes court in Skopje
The classification match that will take place at the same time has a community member of Montenegro we noticed. Turns out we still haven’t seen all participants but it is with great pleasure that we introduce to those of you who don’t know her yet Ivana Radinovic. She will be part of the game between Georgia and Albania. Her teammates in the referee crew are Cisli Gungor from Turkey and Ori Shalhavi from Israel who will administer the tipoff.

Quarterfinal for Simanovica
For the WU20 in Skopje North Macedonia it’s time for the quarter finals matches. In the clash between Turkey and Germany we get to see our Latvian friend Kristine Simanovica (on the right side of the picture) in the game. She will be part of a crew that features Alexandre Maret of France and Mateus Skorek from Poland. Turkey has won three of the last five matches between the two countries in U20 Europeans, but the last one was in 2013. Second tournament for Torok
Another tournament has started and we see familiar faces there! Our very own Daniela Torok took court for the WU16 matchup between Cyprus and Moldova. Is it a repost? No! FIBA’s nominator in Skopje must have enjoyed what he saw yesterday cause we have a new pairing for our friends Kristine Simanovica and Indre Balnionyte. They will be part of the crew with crewchief Mateusz Skorek from Poland as Slovakia and Croatia battle it out in one of the classification games in Skopje today. A crew with two community members! How can we have overlooked that was the question. Well the honest answer is: we did not. We just had only 24 hours in the day. But as there is a restday on most events today we can provide you with the link to the game that was officiated by Kristine Simanovica from Latvia, and Indre Balnionyte from Lithuania. Zdenko Zubak from Slovakia completed the crew. Albania took on Ukraine and lost the game for the U20B division group phase.
