Flop or fake?
Sometimes players try to trick refs into giving their opponent a foul. And sometimes they manage to do so. In order to be able to make the right call it is important to understand what happens on a court. We’ve found a clip with lots of nice examples and rewinds. Just take a little time to watch them and see if you understand what’s happening. Would you call the foul or the flop??

Inschrijvingen voor Officiating’s Cool eyeopener Camp 2020 geopend!
Het is alweer voor het zesde jaar op rij dat Officiating’s Cool in samenwerking met BC Lions uit Moabit Berlijn een scheidsrechtersclinic organiseert. Tussen 9 en 13 April komen scheidsrechter uit heel Europa (en zelfs een enkelen van daarbuiten) naar Berlijn om wedstrijden te fluiten en zichzelf door de unieke wijze van coaching te verbeteren. De NBB heeft de clinic 5 punten toegekend in het licentiesysteem zoals dat gehanteerd wordt binnen de arbitrage. Bob Bhania is opnieuw de hoofdcoach van de clinic. Refresh: the traveling-rule
Rewatching some gametapes from this current season I noticed I am losing a step or two in criteria of traveling violations. Yes off course one remembers that the traveling rule changed recently, but somehow it looks like I’m calling the old criteria. Handchecking (refresh)
If you feel during a game it’s getting out of hand there are several things you can do. Besides decently covering the violations (we’ll come back to that one later this month) there’s a certain kind of fouls that always causes a lot of turmoil in sloppy games. Keeping focus
Everybody once in a while gets a game where the score will very soon be clear about who is going to win. Teams that have like 30 points in between them before halftime will sometimes lead to referee-teams losing focus. Hey, we are human! Lees verder “Keeping focus”
