As we first saw the clip below the awesome ‘Stupid is as stupid does’ came to mind as well. Basketballseason 2021-2022 is far from over, but playoffs are taking place here and there, so we are heading towards the final pages of this edition. A great way to finish your season is tournament such as The Zehlendorf Tournament in Berlin.

Violation or not?
We have stated before and we will state it again: Correctly covering your violations will help you clean up a possibly difficult game. And ignoring a violation that leads to a defensive foul will inevitably enrage players coaches and even the crowd.
Easy question for this clip: Are you calling a violation (3 seconds) yes or no? And why yes or why no?

ELW F4 Nominations
Later this week the ELW Final Four will take place in Istanbul. Four teams have qualified for this tournament: ZVVZ USK Prague, Sopron Basket, Perfumerias Avedida and Fenerbahce. Fiba also announced the officiating crew for the tournament. Lees verder “ELW F4 Nominations”

It’s been a while since we went over U-fouls. We assume everybody can memorize the 5 different criteria available for us referees to decide are we talking U fouls here or not. That being said: In the clip is a nice situation where we want to know: What is your call and why?

Calling a foul you have to be VERY VERY sure
We stated before: if you decide to call a foul, you have to be sure. Because if you gamble and you take away 20% of the players life in the game while you should not you are pretty heavily impacting the game.
