We all know we have to protect the shooter right?? The 4 F’s might help you in covering possible shooting fouls. But sometimes shooters try to trick us in blowing our whistles while defense is not doing any wrong.

IF you decide to swallow your whistle on a play, you have to be aware that it can put one of both teams at an advantage. When rewatching on video you should always be able to explain for yourself: why did I decide to go for a no call? And it can be very good to not call a foul, but that may change from play to play. It’s important to be on the spot where you got to go to see what you got to see. And as IoT prescribes : be distant to the play to avoid making emotional calls, and be steady for it’s easier to focus on the play if you’re standing still (instead of running).
