The next game that is worth watching because of some community members is the clash between Georgia and Kosovo at 15.45 today. Our Turkish friend Özlem Yalman is the crewchief of an interesting trio that consists of Giacomo Dori from Italy and Gatis Salins from Lativa.
As we speak our Hungarian friend Daniella Torok is preparing for her game later today at 16.00 between Gibraltar and Albania. It’s a matchup between in the U18 division C championships that are taking place in Andorra. The tipoff will be administered by Antonio Zamora from Andorra, while Ala Ambrosii from Moldova will make the third referee in the crew.
The regular visitors of this site probably sometimes get tired of hearing us about ‘cover your violations’. But once again we’ll tell you that taking care of your violations will help your crew get more and easier control of the game. That being said we’re not advocating being a triggerhappy cowboy out there on court. Check out this clip from a playoff final some years ago in Holland where there’s a 3 second violation being called. Do you like that call? And if you do: Why so? If you don’t like the call, why not?
Portugal and Hungary will open their U18 tournament at 13.30 today with a familiar face as crewchief. Veronika Vavrova from Czech Republic will perform the opening toss and she will be accompanied by Ievgeni Nagornyi from Ukraine and Martin Horizon from Bulgaria. The game will start at 13.30 and can be seen down below.
A new summer tournament tips off today and that means new colleagues and community members in action. Norways Nikola Bejat is one of the referees that will take court in Ploiesti tot the U18 boys division B that has its opener today. Bejat is part of a team with Dardan Maxhuni from Kosovo and Stephen Ferris from Great Britain. Tipoff will be at 12.30 Amsterdam time.
Lets do another clip. Now is as good a time as any to prepare for the upcoming season right? Are you calling a charge? A block? Or nothing at all?
In our community we have a lot of fans of Italian FIBA referee Silvia Marziali. We can tell by the likes that appear on the socials whenever her picture is there. And off course we talk to people who are watching her games.
Our very own Daniella Torok is in famous company today for her game at the u18 women division C clash between Moldova and Gibraltar. Both teams suffered big losses in their openers against Georgia as they are looking for the first win of the event. Torok is in the referee crew together with Viola Gyorgyi who just got nominated for Eurobasket later this year. Jurgen Muho from Albania is the third referee for the game that tips off at 16.00. The game can be seen on the stream down below.
It’s important to be covering your violations. Imagine calling a blocking foul on a player that was ‘beaten’ by a erroneous dribble start. You don’t want to do that, cuz it makes life so much harder on you and your cremates.
